...today he would be called a word faith teacher...
Romanov family
Prince Felix Yussupov had occasion to befriend Rasputin, it was necessary in order that he be able to lure him into the trap which would bring about the death of Rasputin. Felix was the one who killed Rasputin. (I do not advocate the killing of word faith teachers, or televangelist con artists, although I would not be adverse to seeing them publically flogged!)The following are the notes Felix kept about his visits with Rasputin. The accounts of the behaviour and words of Rasputin are chillingly, almost eerily similar to what is happening in Charismatic / Pentecostal Christianity today. The formula followed by Rasputin is almost identical to that which is used by Hinn, Meyer, Howard-Brown & Co. It must surely cause a sense of consternation to the word faith preachers of today that they echo the sentiments of Rasputin. This also proves that what they are doing is NOT a new revelation, it is merely an old trick now used by younger dogs to con even the elect of God if it is possible, which it appears it is. The following is told in the words of Felix Yussupov, cousin to Tsar Nicholas the second. (The people spoken of by Rasputin are the Tsar, the Tsarina, Anne Vyrubova [best friend of the Tsarina] and the Russian Government [the Duma]).

"He came under the influence of a priest who awakened the mystic in him."
"After invocations and hymns, the faithful would form a ring and began to sway in rhythm..."
He came under the influence of a priest who awakened the mystic in him; but his conversion lacked sincerity. Owing to his brutal, sensual nature he was soon drawn to the sect of the Flagellants or Khlystys. They claimed to be inspired with the Word and to incarnate Christ. They attained this heavenly communion by the most bestial practices, a monstrous combination of the Christian religion with pagan rites and primitive superstitions. The faithful used to assemble by night in a hut or in a forest clearing, lit by hundreds of tapers. The purpose of these radenyi, or ceremonies, was to create a religious ecstasy, an erotic frenzy. After invocations and hymns, the faithful formed a ring and began to sway in rhythm, and then to whirl round and round, spinning faster and faster. As a state of dizziness was essential for the "divine influx," the master of ceremonies flogged any dancer whose vigor abated. The radenyi ended in a horrible orgy, everyone rolling on the ground in ecstasy, or in convulsions. They preached that he who is possessed by the "Spirit" belongs not to himself but to the "Spirit" who controls him and is responsible for all his actions and for any sins he may commit.
Hinn, Duplantis, Howard-Brown & others have described a similar thing happening to them causing their 'awakening'.
Mood altering music or mantras are typical of Hinn, Howard- Brown & co's meetings...
...it ended in a horrible orgy, everyone rolling on the ground in ecstasy, or in convulsions...
"...the purpose of these ceremonies was to create a religious ecstasy, an erotic frenzy..."
Typical outcome at a Hinn or Howard-Brown meeting...their tricks are not new as you can see..
The desired outcome at Howard-Brown, Hinn & Co's meetings in trying to 'get a 'touch' from the spirit'...
Rasputin was clearly one of the fathers of this false spirit also conjured up by Howard-Brown, Hinn & Co...(Sarah.C)
Rasputin smiled indulgently: "So you want to teach the good Lord what he should do? He hasn't sent me to help the Lord's Anointed in vain. I can't say it often enough: they would all have died if I hadn't been there. I stand on no ceremony with them; if they don't obey implicitly, I bang on the table with my fist, get up and go. Then they run after me, imploring: 'Don't go, Gregory Efimovich, we'll do anything you wish, so long as you don't forsake us.' And that's why, my dear fellow, they love and respect me. The other day, I talked to him about someone who should be given a post, but he keeps on postponing the nomination. So I threatened to leave them: 'I'll go to Siberia,' I announced, 'and you'll stay here and rot all by yourselves. You'll lose your son through your own fault if you turn away from God, and then you'll fall into the clutches of the devil.' That's the way I speak to them; but I haven't finished my work. There are still a lot of bad people about them who spend their time whispering in their ears that Gregory Efimovich is a wicked man who works for their downfall... It's ridiculous. Why should I want to ruin them? They are good and pious."

"...you'll lose your son through your own fault if you turn away from God..."
Rasputin equated their turning away from him as their turning away from God...another revolting manipulation tactic often employed by modern day Rasputins!
Jessie Duplantis
Violent outbursts of temper to get a point across, threats of withdrawing from the person (also equated to the withdrawal of God's hand and love in their life) thus leaving them vulnerable, coersion and manipulation to achieve his desired goals was a favourite trick of Rasputin's. Hinn, Howard-Brown and Co ape the same behaviour...(Sarah.C)
The staretz made me lie down on the sofa. Then, staring intently at me, he gently ran his hand over my chest, neck and head, after which he knelt down, laid both hands on my forehead and murmured a prayer. His face was so close to mine that I could see only his eyes. He remained in this position for some time, then rising brusquely he made mesmeric passes over my body.
Rasputin had tremendous hypnotic power. I felt as if some active energy were pouring heat, like a warm current, into my whole being. I fell into a torpor, and my body grew numb; I tried to speak, but my tongue no longer obeyed me and I gradually slipped into a drowsy state, as though a powerful narcotic had been administered to me. All I could see was Rasputin's glittering eyes: two phosphorescent beams of light melting into a great luminous ring which at times drew nearer and then moved farther away.
I heard the voice of the starets but could not understand what he said..
I remained in this state, without being able to cry out or to move. My mind alone was free, and I fully realized that I was gradually falling into the power of this evil man. Then I felt stirring in me the will to fight his hypnosis. Little by little the desire to resist grew stronger and stronger, forming a protective armor around me. I had the feeling that a merciless struggle was being fought out between Rasputin and me, between his personality and mine. I knew that I was preventing him from getting complete mastery over me, but still I could not move: I had to wait until he ordered me to get up.
Soon I was able to distinguish his silhouette, his face and eyes; the dreadful ring of light had entirely disappeared. "That's enough for the present, my dear boy," said Rasputin.
He pulled me roughly by the arm; I sat up, but my head swam and my whole body felt weak. I managed to get to my feet and take a few steps, but my legs felt paralyzed and refused to obey me.
Rasputin continued to watch all my movements. "It's God's grace," he said finally, "you'll soon notice how much better you are." As I said good-by he made me promise to come back soon.
Rasputin stared at me intently; half closing his eyes, he said after a few moments of thought: "This is what is going to happen my dear fellow: enough of this war, enough bloodshed. It's time to end this slaughter. Isn't Germany our brother too? The Lord said: 'Thou shalt love thine enemy as thine own brother.' That's why the war must cease. He constantly opposes this; she won't hear of it either. Someone is certainly giving them bad advice. But what does it matter? If I give an order, they'll have to do as I say. But it's still early in the day, everything isn't quite ready,
"When we've settled this matter, we'll make Alexandra regent during her son's minority. As for him, we'll send him to Livadia for a rest. He'll be glad to go, he's worn out and needs a rest. Down there, at Livadia, with his flowers, he'll be closer to God. He has enough sins on his conscience to atone for. A whole life of prayer wouldn't be enough to atone for this war. The Tsarina is a very wise woman, a second Catherine the Great. Anyway, she's been running everything lately, and, you'll see, the more she does, the better things will be. She's promised to begin by sending away all those chatterboxes at the Duma. May they go to the devil! Look at them, they have decided to rebel against the Lord's Anointed. Well, we'll give them a sound drubbing. They should have been sent packing long ago. All those who have found fault with me and complained will come to a bad end."
"...I felt as if some active energy were pouring heat, like a warm current into my whole being..."
"...I gradually slipped into a drowsy state..."
"...as though a powerful narcotic had been administered to me..."
Benny Hinn
"...but still I could not move and had to wait for him to tell me to get up..."
This entire description of Felix Yussopov's experience with Rasputin is almost exactly the same as what occurs in a Howard-Brown meeting. It is also typical of much of what happened to people during the early days of the supposed, 'Toronto blessing'. I would hazard a guess that it should have been called the 'Rasputin Blessing'.
Just like Rasputin did in Russia, Pat Robertson likes to put his fingers into the political pie, and like Rasputin, it appears that some politicians do listen to him.
"...it's God's grace..."
Again, Grigory Rasputin attributed to God what was clearly evil and NOT of God. Another habit of other people who feature on this page.

Joyce Meyer

Here you see Rasputin pulling the original trick which equates to Rodney Howard-Brown's "touch not mine anointed" line, or Benny Hinn's "I'll blow their heads off with my Holy Ghost machine gun" line. Threatening those who oppose them with disaster and destruction. Again, this is not a new trick, merely new dogs employing an old but effective lie! (Sarah.C)

"And why shouldn't I talk to them about God, my dear fellow? They are very pious and such talk pleases them... They understand everything, forgive everything and appreciate me. It's not the least use running me down to them, for no matter what is told them they don't believe a word of it. I have often said to them: 'You'll see that I'll be slandered. Remember then how Christ was persecuted. He too suffered for the sake of truth.'
Finally, Rasputin admits that he throws in a little God speak because it is what they like (not because he is trying to serve God). But then he equates himself with Christ, that if people attacked him then they were attacking God. He knew that it did not matter what he did wrong, that the people would forgive him or simply overlook it, such was their dependency upon him... we see this happening with modern day prophets who make predictions, are proved wrong and yet are, (rather than being discredited by their actions and thus reproved by their followers) forgiven or the blatant deception is completely overlooked. Rasputin also placed himself almost as though he was above others, and that again is something we see prevalent amongst people such as Benny Hinn, Rodney Howard-Brown, Joyce Meyer, Jessie Duplantis & Co...they all take Rasputin's approach...(Sarah.C)
